Dawit is a one-man (plus two-intern) studio painting handmade custom sneakers out of Brooklyn — for people who refuse to dress like the algorithm.
The Story
It started with a leaking paint pen in 2019.
I was a broke art student trying to make my busted Air Force 1s look intentional. One pair turned into ten, ten into a waitlist. Six years later, Dawit has shipped custom sneakers to 48 countries — but every pair still starts the same way: a conversation, a sketch, a leaking paint pen.
